Your yoga holiday in the Allgäu region

You can practise yoga all year round at our wellness and yoga hotel in the Allgäu region. There are up to eight different sports courses a day (from Monday to Saturday), including regular yoga sessions, which are always suitable for all ability levels. Yoga teacher Melanie is passionate about ensuring that all participants feel at ease. Her motto, “Stay on your mat!”, encourages you to concentrate on yourself and not compare yourself to others. This lets you enjoy an experience that’s adapted perfectly to you.

Our sports programme

Our special yoga weeks take place three times a year. During this sports week, we offer an even wider range of yoga classes, including hatha yoga, vinyasa yoga, and more. All guests staying at the Allgäu Sonne during this time are welcome to take part in the classes. Participation is included in the price of your stay.

Frequently asked questions about yoga at our hotel in the Allgäu region

What kind of yoga classes do you offer? What are the differences?

When you visit our hotel for your yoga retreat in the Allgäu region, our classes let you focus on your balance, flexibility, and back health. Gentle yoga sessions are also available. During the yoga sports week, we also offer relaxed hatha yoga, yoga flow, chair yoga, fascia yoga, yin yoga, and vinyasa yoga, letting you experience and practise a wide variety of styles. Each yoga style has different goals and focuses on different areas of the body.

Do I need any previous yoga experience?

We follow the Viniyoga approach to yoga teaching developed by Krishnamacharya: “Don’t adapt your body to the asana (yoga pose), adapt the asana to your body!” This means that all guests can take part in the courses on offer during their yoga holiday, regardless of their previous experience.

Are there different levels of difficulty?

Our classes are suitable for all levels. All guests can participate at their own ability level thanks to the yoga aids provided, such as cushions and yoga blocks, and the possibility to adapt the asanas. An exception to this are our sports weeks, during which advanced classes are also offered. However, these are easy to identify in the weekly programmes.

When do the classes take place, how long do they last, and do I need to register?

Classes usually take place in the mornings from 10.45 a.m. and last around 45 minutes. There is no need to register, as our yoga room has plenty of space for everyone.

Is participation in the classes included in the price of the stay for hotel guests?

Yes, all yoga classes at our hotel are included in the price.

Where do the classes take place? Are there also outdoor yoga classes?

Our yoga classes take place in our yoga room. In summer, the courses sometimes also take place outside, weather permitting.

Are there also classes for children?

We do not offer special classes for children.

Which class is the most popular with guests?

Guests particularly appreciate back yoga and yoga for balance.

Can non-hotel guests also book the classes?

No, the classes are reserved exclusively for guests staying at Allgäu Sonne.

Do you also offer yoga retreats in Germany, or will you offer any in the future?

We offer yoga weeks during which a wider and more specialised range of yoga classes is available. For example, “Yoga meets strength & endurance” is organised twice a year, and the yoga week takes place three times a year. However, these are not quite the same as a yoga retreat.
